That could be the solution. I think there are captcha plugin works like that, like this one extensions.joomla.org/extension/access-a.../easycalccheck-plus/

Maybe you can use it instead of developing your own customization?

Even with captcha enabled? People said that we can insert a hidden field in the form and check if the data for that field is filled (automatically by bot), we can prevent the ticket from being created

If you want to try that solution, submit a support ticket sending us super admin account of your site. We will try to implement that solution for you to see if it helps reducing the spam

Would that easy to be done?
Have the same issue with the tickets lately - every day 2-3 spam messages even with capitcha enabled - and hidden Capitcha worked even less why i switched back to the previous capitcha version...

OK Joeri. I will try to implement it for you ASAP (reading some articles in the internet about this method, I realized that it is not simple as I thought before :D )

I finally found a solution for the spam. I now us OSpam-a-not from joomlashack en setup the form time at 3sec (since it also blocks login when you choose longer)  But i had no SPAM for a week now, other times i had 10 SPAM tickets a day.

Sounds like a good fix for an annoying problem.
Why is it that the Google Recapture does not stop these idiots?

An alternative solution that I have been using is Community Builder Anti-Spam Capture.
Since implementing this across three sites, spam messages are now zero also.

Thanks Tuan for helping us with this too.

Hello

We just released version 5.1.1 of Helpdesk Pro which implement anti spam solution:

1. It uses Honeypot technique to prevent spams

2. An optional Minimum Form Time (in Seconds) config option to allow you to configure minimum time for the users to enter data on the form to submit ticket (for example, you can set it to 3 seconds). In case form is submitting too fast (less than that time , mostly causes by spam bots), it will be blocked

So you can update to this latest version and OSpam-a-not will not be necessary anymore

Regards,

Tuan
