It seems that the plugin you suggested can work alongside the reCAPTCHA, because you don't need to switch to it in Global Configuration. It seems to work on another website which uses the standard contact form of Joomla only, but in the list of components to activate it for, Helpdesk Pro is not listed so I'm not sure it will work there.

Hello

In Joomla , each component could be configured to use the captcha plugin it wants, maybe that's the reason

Our extension does not have an option to allow choosing the captcha in component configuration, it just uses the captcha plugin configured in Global Configuration of Joomla

So in short, if you use a different captcha plugin, you need to change the setting in Global Configuration of Joomla so that Helpdesk Pro can use that plugin

Hello,

Yes, I understand that. But the plugin you recommended does not appear in the list of captcha's in Global Configuration, only the two standard of google appear.

The plugin does seem to work in general, because the standard contact extension of Joomla (on another site of mine) immediately uses it (meaning that it uses two: that plugin, and the Google CAPTCHA that is selected in Global Configuration). But the link to the plugin's site does not show on the Helpdesk Pro form page.

Ah, OK. That mean it is not a standard captcha plugin. Guess it is developed for Joomla core extensions only

I don't know if it will affect Helpdesk Pro too then or not, but it is installed and activated, and the Invisible CAPTCHA of Google is active too. So I will see if spam still comes in now or not. So far, I got nothing yet.

Hello

If you change global configuration to use invisiable recaptcha, then it will affect Membership Pro. Hope it will help prevent spam better

Hello,

I have the same problem since some days ago. Why there is no text filter to easy detect some spam ? we could choose words in configuration as viagra, bitcoin, ...
Or there is the filter but I don't find it?

Same problem with standard google recaptcha and invisible recaptcha.

Best regards.

Hello

I think there is something wrong with captcha settings. Please submit a support ticket sending us super admin account and link to the submit ticket page so that I can check to see why the issue happens and get it sorted

Similar situation on two sites using Help Desk Pro, both being spammed repeatedly but, this is not necessarily a problem specific to HDP as previously I had a similar issue with another help desk extension.

Would it be possible to capture the IP address of users creating a new ticket and when spam messages are received, the IP address can be added to the blocked IP address at a server level.
The messages all appear too originate from the same IPs and blocking them will ultimately reduce this annoying behaviour from a small bunch of idiots.

Cheers,
