Hello,
I have about 1000 documents I need to get into edocman. Is there any way I can upload the docs to the relevant directories and have edocman index/pick up there locations and server them?
I do not mind adding descriptions of these documents at a later date.
Thank You

Hi
Right now, EDocman doesn't have a feature to allows bulk import documents yet, so you will need to create documents manually. Maybe you can hire us to write the import script for you. The price for the development would be 50$ and it will take us 2 days for the development !
Regards,
Tuan

Hi Bashir
Yes. You can upload your documents via FTP to your server. Then choose the CSV import function to import !

Ok,
So just to make sure we both understand, I can do the following:
Create the Directories and sub directories and ftp the documents into these
Create a csv file with file name, description, category (And Nested Category) and location of file and it will import into edocman?

Hi
I have a bulk import question as well.
I have all of the files in directories and sub-directories. I did setup the Edocman categories (based on the directory structure).
I have a lot of files. I would like to import them regularly (like once a month) and not one by one through the Joomla Edocman backend.
I developed a component which is able to import the file infos from (document type and desc is the filename) a specific directory into the __edocman_documents and __edocman_document_category table.
But I have a hard time to add them to the assets table (because I want to controll the file access based on the category)
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Gabor
