Any way to make a field readonly on the renew/upgrade forms? was created by Ben Sevier
We need the ability to control when a member is able to edit a field. A field can be set to readonly, but that affects all occurrences of that field, including subscription form. We need to allow a field to be enterable on the subscription form, not editable on the profile (which is a setting) and not editable on the renew/upgrade forms. This is mainly for the address fields, due to our master database system (SQL, main server) using the address to assign designations to members (region of the world and local chapters) that are used for a number of Association activities, so we plan to use a form in the online site to submit address changes, which will be propagated back up to MP. So, need a "switch" in Custom Field settings like the Can Edit On Profile that is currently available. Haven't figured out a way other than using additional address fields that show everywhere but subscription, and have to be filled from the subscription field. Anyone done something like this?

Hi Ben
Currently, we do not have a setting like that. How about set it to Hide on renewal ?

Thanks for the quick response. Yes, thought of that, but what does that do to the payment process if the address fields are hidden? Haven't looked at the payment plugin code, but I'm assuming the credit card processors require at least some of the address? PayPal doesn't, but you log into them, so they aren't a problem. But Converge? Not sure.

Hi Ben
The fields are automatically carried on from the previous subscription to new subscription on renewal, so you should not have to worry about payment processing

Tuan
