I need your advice on how to best configure a two-step subscription offer in Membership Pro (Joomla 5.4, using Stripe Checkout). Here’s what I want to achieve:
- Early Bird Plan: €4.99 per month, renewable, available only for the first 500 users.
- Regular Plan: €7.99 per month, renewable, available to everyone else after the 500 Early Bird spots are taken.
- Ensure the first 500 members really pay €4.99 every month, not just for the first month.
- Automatically (or manually, if needed) switch new signups to the €7.99 plan once the 500 limit is reached.
- Avoid using coupons that apply only to the first payment — I need the reduced rate to be recurring for those 500 members.
- Is it possible to limit a plan to 500 active subscriptions and then disable it automatically?
- If not automatic, what’s the best workflow to handle that manually (e.g., monitoring and disabling the plan once 500 members are active)?
- Should I create two separate plans (Early Bird and Regular), or is there a better way using coupons or conditional logic?
- How would this setup interact with Stripe Checkout for recurring payments?
Best regards,
Clém

Hello
You should setup two plans and for the Early Bird Plan, use Limit Subscriptions plugin to limit it to 500 users. See docs.joomdonation.com/membershippro/plug...subscriptions-plugin
The other option if you want to create one plan is create a coupon code and limit it to 500 usages only. That should work, too
Regards,
Tuan

Hello Tuan,
Thank you very much for the perfect and very quick answer!
The solution using the Limit Subscriptions plugin with two separate plans is exactly what I needed for the automatic cutoff.
Much appreciated!

Yes. That works. But using coupon is also not bad
. So you have two choices to handle the requirement
