Paypal vs Stripe was created by intouchweb
Having regular connection issues with Paypal (incomplete payments etc) and considering switching over to Stripe.
My understanding is to use Stripe rather than Stripe checkout to allow MP to continue supplying the onvoices etc.
Some questions for people who have used both Stripe and Paypal...
1. What is your experience with reliability of Stripe over Paypal, more successful completions?
2. Does Stripe keep the user onsite during payment rather than requiring a redirection, as this seems to be oe of the break-points with Paypal.
3. Can Stripe be offered as well as Paypal, as two alternative options?
4. Stripe vs Stripe Checkout - can a company have both at the same time, allowing Stripe through the website and Stripe Checkout for any external payments requiring full invoicing?
5. Is Stripe simple to integrate with MP?
Thanks

Hi Mark
Just some information from me as the developer of the extension and payment plugins:
1. Use Stripe or Stripe Checkout depends on if you need to support Strong Customer Authentication with Stripe or not. See membershipprodoc.joomservices.com/faqs/s...e-vs-stripe-checkout to understand the difference and choose the one which works for your need
2. Stripe can use together with PayPal on the same website. Nothing prevents you from using both
3. You can only use Stripe or Stripe Checkout on same website. You cannot use both for technical reasons.
4. Yes, Stripe is simple to integrate into Membership Pro. and from developer experience, Stripe is more reliable than PayPal
Regards,
Tuan

BTW, do you use recurring plans on your site ? If not, I'm planning to develop a new Stripe payment plugin which allows using credit card payment directly on your site and still compatible with Strong Customer Authentication requirement. Could be available in the next 2 to 3 weeks
