Grace Period was created by Roger Clarke
Hi Tuan,
I have searched the forum for information on grace periods but I'm still confused by the answers given.
There is a grace period within configuration settings and a grace period within a plan's settings.
In this forum topic joomdonation.com/forum/membership-pro-ge...e-period.html#140340 you say that grace period is "The number of days BEFORE the fixed expiration that people can sign up for a subscription and have it expire the following year". I'm fairly certain that this is the answer for the grace period within a plan's settings.
So the grace period in configuration settings I assume is the additional period added to the end of all subscriptions which is referred to in this post joomdonation.com/forum/membership-pro-ch...html?start=20#132230
Please could you give me a full description of this grace period that adds an additional period to the end of a subscription? If I have a subscription that expires on 31st March and I add a grace period of 30 days in configuration settings, when will reminder emails be sent? Will it be the number of days the reminder is to be sent before the expiry date or the number of days before the end of the grace period? And will actions that occur on subscription expiry such as changing Joomla groups and acymailing newsletter subscriptions be actioned at the end of the grace period? (I assume they will as that is the point of the grace period).
Thanks,
Roger

Hello Roger
You understand it correctly. For your example, the reminder will still be sent as if there is no grace period set. With your example, normally, the subscription will be expired on 31st March. With grace period set to 30 days, it won't be expired on that date but will only be expired on 30 days later. But that does not change the date the reminder emails sent
