wrong group assign (joomla default group??) was created by paul frederick
Hi,

New subscribers are being assigned to the same group (the wrong group) on sign up while opening the account.
Tuan has told me it may be caused by my joomla site being set to one default group. I´ve changed that to public, but it seems MP is not capable of telling joomla to assign users to the groups we set on plans wich obviously is one group per plan. Perhaps i´m missing a step?

thanks

Hello Paul

Don't change default Joomla user group. You should set that default group to Registered (default Joomla behavior)

The additional group might cause by something else. Please reply me via Skype so that I can check it

Apologize again for could not check it yesterday as promised.

Hello
Joomla default registration user group is set to Registered for me. I have additional group Subscribers that is child of Registered. Somehow users who register via normal Joomla registration, not through MembershipPro registration get assigned to Subscribers while I expect them to be assigned to Registered, they get active subscription without paying. This is serious.

Please help.

After changins settings to this plugin User - Membership Pro

"This plugin is used to add users to a subscription plan (usually a free plan) when they sign up via Joomla core." So I set them to sign for free plan when they sign up with Joomla core but they still get assigned to Subscribers group while I do not allow for that with Joomla Groups Settings restriction.

That doesn't look correct to me. If you don't config the plan to assign subscribers of that plan to Subscriber group, users should not be assigned to that subscriber group

You can submit a support ticket sending us super admin account of the site and send us the link to user registration page

We are going to check to see why the issue happens and get it sorted

BTW, you are using a very outdated version of Membership Pro, so if it is possible, please purchase latest version and upgrade it to your site to have latest/most stable version run on the site

Tuan

Thank you Tuan for your prompt answer. I have submitted Support Ticket with requested Super User credentials. It would be great if you could help to nail down the problem and help fixing it. I hope it is merely some tiny setting that I overlooked.

As for the outdated version of MembershipPro I did have newer (not the latest though) than what I currently use but I had to move my site to the new Joomla installation (due to too many installed plugins and many issues with previous template) and I could not find the newer package offline anymore while the download link on joomdonation.com account that I have is expired. Currently this project is not profitable for subscriptions and I thought I will let it run on the old version of MembershipPro until the proof of concept starts bringing some profit. Besides, when I was buying the software I was not aware that the support for new versions is time limited :(

Anyhow, I will invest in an upgrade at some point, I think you are doing great software!

I have having problems with group membership and have seen this thread. There is a reference to a plugin called User - Membership. I have searched my installation and there is no plugin of that name. How can I get a copy of this plugin?

In my case, the user is assigned to a group "Unlimited" which I never create or was part of the User Group before.
This happens after update to MP 2.10 and New User is subscribing to any plan.
In MP 2.10 Config the settings point to a different user group.

I know it will be sorted out by Tuan in a few days.

That's strange. If anyone has issue with Joomla Group plugins, submit a support ticket sending us super admin account of your site and tell us what we need to do to see the error

We will check the setting to see what's wrong and get it sorted for you
