Thats interesting Alan as that isnt the behavior I see.
I have just retested to check.
I have just added a new custom field that only applies to one of my plans.
I chose that plan in the frontend to join and the new field was displayed
I logged into the backend and went to that new members subscription and that new custom field cannot be seen.
I checked the database and I found the value correctly in field_value table
I login to the frontend as the new user and the new field is nowhere to be seen
Tuan previously agreed that this was the expected behaviour.

How odd. About to have dinner but I'll repeat what you did and take screenshots later.
I also have a 're-type email address' custom field that checks the email to make sure it's the same - this appears in the backend and (annoyingly) in user emails.
But it's odd if what you see is the expected behaviour - if you can't see custom fields, what's the point in having them?
Silly question, but have you cleared the cache?

OK. Added a new custom field (osm_test) only for the Student plan:
This is it in the front end in the plan it's attached to:
But not for a different plan:
Here it is in the backend under a Student plan subscription:
And not in a subscription to a different plan:
That's how I'd expect it to behave, so it's odd that Tuan says differently.
Does this help?

Sorry Alan.
I have retested and realised i had the access for the new field as Guest and no Public.
I now see that it is working as you stated. The only remaining issue is the Subscriber view only shows the fields common to all Plans.

Ha! Snap.
Glad you got part of it sorted, but I'm still not seeing what you see in terms of just the common fields.

It was some time ago and quite a few versions since last time I tried having different fields for different plans.
I think a lot of it was because I wanted to hide most of the core fields for a free plan.
This led to all those fields disappearing from the subscriber view and other issues.
I would have to try again.
I will build a brand new site and refresh my memory of all the issues.
