I don't think this would take much to implement in core, and it would be MUCH more sensible for the UK rather than using the COUNTRY - can you please consider this?
Thanks,

However, if all you want is a drop down of counties - no need to use the state field create your own Custom Field called Counties, with a type of drop down list. Copy the list of counties - e.g. from the first column of this table: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postal_counties_of...ited_Kingdom#England (Don't forget the other home countries) and paste it into the text box on the Custom Field form as a list of options. Job done?
Calum,
My apologies for the not replying, it escaped me till I saw the further reply from RCheesley and I felt I owed you a reply.
Thanks for the suggestion, this was was indeed what I did as you advised and it works fine.
I simply disabled the stock MembershipPro 'State' list field
Then created a new field as you said, called it County and then found an on-line resource with what seemed as near as damn it full list, a little time consuming inputting the list and entering the X | County Name convention but got there in the end. I additionally added [ENG] or [WAL] etc to differentiate when an end user is going through the drop down.
The final result in a registration of my site / membership is;
Many Regards,

Tuan: is it possible to automatically make some fields all capitals even if entered lower case? It would also be useful to make some other address fields with an initial capital letter in case some users enter everything in lower case - as some do?

In terms of the capitalisation, you could just convert to caps on submission of the field, I guess?
