URL Validation was created by Graeme Thompson
I've added a Website field to the subscription form in Membership Pro and set it to required with the validation type set to "Url".
It seems that this validation type checks for http:// in the field, which most people forget about. So I entered http:// in the default values box hoping it would auto-populate the field but it doesn't.
Is there any way to do this?

If you enter default value, it should be populated. I don't know why it is not populated in your case. Maybe you can submit a support ticket sending us super admin account of your site so that I can check it for you.
I think it would be better if you change title of the field so let users know that they have to enter http in the url. Something like
Url (please include http)..
