Another year has passed and we are still very much interested in membership cards through Apple Wallet and Google Wallet.
Will gladly pay extra for this feature! How do we get you to prioritize this?

Yes, we would also happily contribute to this development.

Thanks for confirming Tuan.
I have posted the alternative route I went down in another post and the link is here: joomdonation.com/forum/membership-pro-fe...hip-card.html#166561
Tuan has previously mentioned his time is limited in this request area and I respect that and appreciate he goes above and beyond with many, many other things for us.
I have had a good experience using a company called passkit.com to launch our digital membership cards as we had set a deadline of May/June to give our 5000+ members digital cards to stop printing and posting (and replacing) physical cards.
It's been a really good experience and they offer great support and help through the process.
You are charged a minimum monthly amount of around $40USD I think and then a very small fee per card you create that gets cheaper per card as your membership numbers grow.
Our financial year runs 1st July-end of June and we are already looking at huge savings compared to printing, printer warranty, support/servicing costs, postage, lost in post claims from members and reposting costs.
The great thing with JoomDonation custom fields from Tuan is that we made a Digital Card URL field for each member that we populate with the Passkit unique card URL and the member can download it themselves whenever they want from the Membership Pro record.
I also use Zapier to automatically update any changes or dates to their membership from the data we have and things seem to be pretty easy and running smoothly so far (touch wood).
We have had a few members move up membership tiers/plans in the months since we launched and the card changes within minutes in the wallet. It's really good.
The members URL stays with them for life and we have colour coded templates etc that change instantly too when data or tiers are changed as we wanted.
We have decided that when a members date expires and they haven't renewed to give them a 90 day renewal period before we fully delete their membership and end their card.
The great news is the card itself shows the expired date as in the past and we can change their status to read EXPIRED for anyone sighting or trying to use the card on a QR reader but the card itself stays in their active wallet for 90 days after the expiry date by using a trigger date that is not shown on the card template. I hope I am making sense.
Anyway, what I am trying to say is between Membership Pro Custom Fields, Plan ID's and Expiry Date | 2 x zapier tasks | 2 x Google Sheets being setup once - everything is automated for new members, renewing members or members changing plans at any time.
It's been a very good plan B for us if this can't become available in Membership Pro just yet still.
We've had good praise from Members all around the world and even in countries where Google Wallet isn't supported, 3rd party google wallets in the Play store work perfectly too.
Not sure if this will help others but we love Tuan's support on so many other things we made the decision to go with digital cards from Passkit but using all the data and plan id's in Membership Pro and it is integrated pretty well so far.
I can make it better with a bit more time and understanding too but far easier than mailing or creating physical cards for sure.
Thanks

That's awesome Chris, Thanks fro letting us know - I would love to try what you have done - do you have any more detailed instructions ? Im ok with knocking up some code, but the interactions between the pieces are the grey area for me !

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the info. on Pass Kit. I think the main issue with it is that for smaller memberships like ourselves circa 450, it is a bit of on an expensive option. Not sure how other MP Users feel, but I would be more than happy to pay double the price of MP to have Google/Apple wallet built into MP. I am just wondering If Tuan does not have the time to devote to this kind of project, whether there is a 3rd party out there in Joomla App development who could develop and sell as an add-on to MP? The same applies to Events Booking, having the option for users to add their purchased tickets to Apple/Google Wallet.
Kind regards
David

Hi xmanflash.
Sorry i haven't had chance to reply properly to you yet. It has been one of those weeks unfortunately.
I will post again on Monday and try and give as many details as I can for my setup that is working well so far.
I can improve it too but for now really it is just automated through Zapier Zaps and tasks when we add or change data from Membership Pro into a basic Google sheet. The rest is all done codeless and for us through passkit integrations.
I'll have more time on Monday and will reply properly.
Hi David
I fully understand what you mean about costs and best fit would be through MP as the support and invention we get from JoomDonation developers is so very good. Ideally it would be perfect if it was a part of MP or supported to connect with MP seamlessly.
We were paying more a month when we added up postage, changes to members cards, lost cards, reprinting of cards and new blank cards/printer maintenance.
HI all
I'm sure the minimum monthly price for passkit is $39.99 for 250 member passes. After that you pay a small amount per extra member. Once the membership expires, they will delete that member after 90 days and you no longer pay for them.
They also offer a really good feature called smartpass. How this works is you issue all your members their unique pass download link for any number of people but you only pay for the ones that download their pass. So if you create 5000 smart pass links but only find 250 people install the pass to their wallets - you only get charged for the 250 that have.
Their website is passkit.com/ and I spoke with Danny from there this week over their really good chat support option. I mentioned this post and our use of Membership Pro and it said he wouldn't mind anyone on here getting in touch to ask any questions of what they can offer. There sales pitch and approach isn't constant either. I'm not a fan of that style. I initially had a face to face online Google meeting with Passkit to talk openly and then we weren't in a position to go with them straight away and they never chased me at all once i said that. When I was ready, I had another online face to face meeting with Danny and helped me get everything setup and automated.
They have so much knowledge and understanding of what is possible with the passes that it is almost worth talking to them about your own situation and seeing if they have a solution for you. They did for me and it was Danny that showed me how to make 2 easy Zapier Zaps. 1 that creates the card and emails the member once we add MP data to a sheet. And then another that gives me the members unique URL so I can add that back into MP for the member when they next login to our site.
The price per pass each month has been covered by our membership fees and our savings on physical cards, card printer costs and maintenance support and of course postage fees. Whenever some changed membership plan we needed to re-issue a new card. Now we simply update a google sheet and the whole card in their wallet changes colour, grading and expiry dates in a few seconds of change if needed.
Have a good weekend everyone

I still think this should be prio 1. Membership cards in Apple wallet/Google wallet and event tickets in the same apps is the standard nowadays for every big ticket company. Please consider this, this is a must have.

I do have to Agree with Elfberg. Using Google/Apple wallets is what most companies are using for Membership Cards and Event Tickets. We have been asked by many of our customers (members and Event attendees) for this rather than physical cards and tickets.
