Yes. PHP curl needs to be enabled

php_curl.dll is enabled with php 7.1.7 ... running on Windows Server 2012R2 ..

What else I need to check ?

Another thing is checking and make sure server supports TLS 1.2. it related to curl version and Open SSL version as can be seen on this page support.shopgate.com/hc/en-us/articles/1...-to-support-TLS-1-2-

Could you please check it?

I have run the web site test at

which shows that my site support TLS 1.0 1.1 and 1.2 and Grade A settings ..

Anything I can test the Paypal plugin on my site directly ?

Thank Tuan for your support .. the issue was resolved ... the main reason is my php installation without the "cacert.pem" file ....

The solution is here :

the problem is something wrong with cacert.pem file on the server. it needs to be checked and corrected it, see stackoverflow.com/questions/29822686/cur...l-issuer-certificate for suggestion

Once that issue is sorted, the error should be gone

Can you tell me if recurring subscription works with PayPal standard and Stripe? I building a proposal for a new client and they want auto renewal for memberships and the documentation only shows authorize.net as an option.

Yes. It works with the following payment plugins:

1. PayPal

2. Stripe

3. Authorize.net

4. PayPal Pro (credit card payment). But for this one, seems PayPal only allows using recurring API for old account, for new account, they force to use PayFlow Pro API (which is very difficult to support recurring payment)

4. Mollie

So if you want to use it with Stripe and PayPal, it will works well
