Option Type Select by Picture

We would like an Option type for displaying a set of thumbnails that the user can click on to select. If the option value is "Red" we would add an image of a red square. The user would see the images in a row and click on one to select it. Hovering over the image would display a tooltip with the Option value name.

I have got a similar request. Images in a gallery linked to a product. In the same great way as attitutes / options. In the moment I work around it like Gallery pics numbered- Option - choose number of desired pic..
