Charge extra fee for PayPal/credit card? was created by Melissa
Can I charge an extra fee for using PayPal or credit card to pay? The only options I allow for payment are PayPal/credit card & e-transfer.
How do I set this up, if it's possible?
Thanks,
Melissa

Hi Melissa
You can go to Events Booking -> Payment Plugins, click on os_paypal payment plugin to edit, and configure the payment processing fee from there (by percent or fixed amount)
Regards,
Tuan

Hi Tuan,
Can you help with this situation, please? I implemented a paypal/card fee of 2.00% as described above, and there are some issues in how it's calculating: it's actually coming in at a higher percentage once applied and I don't understand why.
Example 1: Event fee: $100, discount $15 = $85. GST 5% = $4.25 (this is correct), then the payment processing fee should be $1.79, but it's coming in at $1.82 (2.039%)
Example 2: Event fee 3 x $100 = $300, GST 5% = $15, the payment processing fee should be $6.30, but is coming in at $6.43 (2.041%).
I understand that this is compounded on the GST, which is fine, but it's not adding up to the right amount and I can't make my accounting software come up with these same numbers.
Help?

I expect it to calculate 2% additional charge when PayPal is the payment option chosen. 🤷 I legitimately don't know what it's calculating.
Example 1 from above: if on event fee only ($85), it would be $1.70. If compounded on top of GST, it would be $1.79. It charged $1.82, which is 2.14% on the event fee or 2.039% on top of GST.
Example 2 from above: if on event fee only ($300), it would be $6.00, if on top of GST, it would be $6.30. It charged $6.43, which is 2.14% on the event fee or 2.041% on top of GST.
I entered the fee at 2.00% so these numbers make ZERO sense to me. How do I get it to charge 2.00% only?
Melissa.
