Yes, editing file directly is a solution if you know how to access to language file via FTP. Sometime, customers just need to change some language items only, so Translation is easier (and helpful)

Hi Tuan,
Thank you for your kind offer. I'm still thinking about it. Perhaps I could solve this by simply uninstalling/deleting the en-GB language pack, since I don't need it for this site anyway.
I definitely agree that Translation is a fantastic tool!

Thank you for your suggestion - I took a look at the ini file (all 1120 lines of it
). The trouble is, I find it hard to decide on the right translation when I see it out of context. On the other hand: you are certainly right when you say using search&replace can be very helpful. And of course there's the problem that it takes far more words to say the same thing in Dutch. I expect that problem is even worse for German.
For the time being, I'm working on getting the whole thing set up to work correctly
. I'll translate stuff as I come across it.
