Hi Tuan,
I have just re-subscribed to Event Booking software because I saw in your update feature log that custom fields can now be specified to appear only in selected events. This is great.
I see now that it is possible to specify which events in the custom field definition. That means you have to know all events in advance, or update this field for each event that needs it.
Is there some flag or switch within the event definition that can set an event to be 'Yes' for a particular custom field?
Thanks and regards,
Andrew

Hi Andrew

At the moment, it is not possible to setup custom fields on events setup screen. Something for future releases of the extension, I guess

Regards,

Tuan

Hi Tuan,
I was not thinking of listing the specific fields in the event setup, necessarily, although that would be nice - I see it might be difficult.
How about instead (or as well) as having a list of events appearing in the field definition we use something else - like category?
ie. "This field will display only in events of the following categories:" (see list of categories).
That would be better but is still a bit clumsy - category is used for lots of other things also and is exclusive in concept (an event may only have one primary category).
An alternative that might be easier is to have some form of tag for events. The list of these might be fixed or users might be allowed to define extra ones. An event (in any category) might have any number of tags attached to it (eg 'child friendly', 'over 18s only', 'pets welcome', 'accomodation available', etc). Then a field could be set to display for any event with a particular tag or tags.
I think that would be a really great feature and would completely solve my problem. I hope it might also be easy to achieve.
Regards,
Andrew
