Variant prices - Adult, Child etc ? was created by Richard
Having searched through how to do this i have found topics years old, a little surprised it needs a hack to achieve this as potentially a basic feature would be varying prices for Adult and Child ?

have tried the hack at joomdonation.com/forum/events-booking-ge...g-custom-fields.html which gives me an extra tab called "Extra Information" but its blank - nothing to add (i have turned off the cart as instructed but i would like to have this on anyway)

In the documentation it looks like this is going to be explained but it doesnt finish the instruction at eventbookingdoc.joomservices.com/basic-s.../event-custom-fields

Could you please detail exactly how to achieve this with the code required and where it has to go please ?

many thanks

Figured this out in the end using this post -
joomdonation.com/forum/events-booking-co...ed-on-user-type.html
the link within it gives a 404 which doesnt help but trial and lots of error got it working.
thanks - great component but this should be a standard option surely ?

Glad you got it working... For anyone else looking at this thread, according to Internet Archive's WAY BACK MACHINE, the old documentation pointed to joomdonation.com/forum/events-booking-ge...d-children.html#8948 as a solution to this issue.

Infact, there are two ways to setup this:

1. Use the solution which James mentioned in the above post. Basically, create textbox custom fee fields to allows users to enter number adults, number children they want to register, then calculate price based on the value they entered. The instruction is joomdonation.com/forum/events-booking-ge...d-children.html#8948

2. The other option is using the way Richard setup. Create a radio custom fee field to allow choosing registrant type (Adult or Children). The way to setup custom fee field is described in documentation at eventbookingdoc.joomservices.com/basic-s...wn-custom-field-type

3. Using one of the two ways above, you might want to enter the Children Price and Adult Price so that it is displaying to users whey they view your events. If you want to do so, you can use Events Custom Fields feature which is described at eventbookingdoc.joomservices.com/basic-s.../event-custom-fields

Hope it is clear now. Custom Fee Field in Events Booking is a bit difficult to understand but once you understand it, it is very useful and allows you to setup events with different pricing structure

These solutions all require selecting ticket price at checkout. I'd like the customer to select ticket level before adding it to the cart. How can this be done without creating a different "event" in the system for each ticket level?

Hi Sean

Unfortunately, we don't have a way to allow selecting ticket price at the event page. If you want users to be able select the ticket price at event page, I think you will have to use a shopping cart extension
