Hi
=> This solution will be much simpler than the other solution (write script to update CB). In this case, you can simply go to Events Booking -> Configuration, look at Messages tab, find the config option Registration Form message, change it to meet your need.

Prohibit editing of mapped fields on the registration form - we can then text to the registration page saying "if these details are no longer correct, please edit your profile and refresh this page before registering" with a pop-up/new window link to the community builder profile editor page

i found a solution for this! At components/com_eventbooking/views/register/tmpl/default.php you can add at line 125 (and all other fields you want to block): readonly="readonly". This works fine!
