What's the quality of the image you want to receive? For the time being, I made a quick modification to make it 80%. You can get this file, unzip it, upload the received file to administrator/components/com_eventbooking/model/common folder, then test it and let me know if it reduces the size of the file as you width

Well I will try in the next days.
Eventually I modify the code for set the appropriate compression ratio, and then will report to you...

This is good news, no problem for delay, the only important thing is that this feature will become available.
I think very important for EB implement this, and I think more customers will be more interested on EB now because component more mature now!

Thanks!

Hi Tuan!
I've tested the code and (almost) with jpg images, works very fine!
Can I try with another kind of image format or the code resize only from jpg to jpg?

Interesting should be to compress png/tiff/etc to jpg ;-)

Thanks!

Should work with PNG, too as it is handled from the code. For other formats, from what I see, Joomla resize image library does not support control quality of the image, so it might not work

Excellent!
So, we should to permit only jpg and png as event image, right?
But perhaps this is not possible from setting menu.

Thanks again!

Currently, we limit to following file types: JPG, PNG, GIF, JPEG. But Yes, it is not possible to configure the accepted image file types at the moment

Hello

Just want to update that the options to control the quality of the image is implemented in latest release 3.14.1. Now, you have two options:

- Resized PNG Image Quality (to control quality of PNG image)
- Resized JPEG Image Quality (to control quality of JPEG image)

So basically, you do not need to use the modified file I sent you before anymore. Just update to latest version and use these config options

Very well! I think this could be a real plus!
Let your customers (even future ones) know about these features, I believe it can make the difference in choosing one component rather than another ;-)

Thanks

The extension has too many features already, so I'm unsure if it is important for other customers. But at least you like this feature :)
