Hi Johnny,
Currently, Edocman does not have the option to select multiple categories and subcategories at the same time. This is because the Category menu is designed to display documents from a single category. Therefore, there’s no need to select multiple categories within this menu.
However, I’d love to understand your use case better. Could you please let me know where exactly you would like the ability to select multiple categories? This will help us consider potential future improvements.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
Dam

Hi Dam,
Since some of our categories contain files that are only accessible to paid members, and different categories of files correspond to the purchase content of different paid members, if I could select individual or multiple categories on the Document Search page, I would be able to provide file searches for specific categories to different paid members. Additionally, for some categories that contain public files, I could designate certain public categories for general users to search.
Thanks

Hi,
Thank you for your suggestion.
Your request is quite specific, and I believe it’s not a common need for most Edocman users. Therefore, I’ll need to consider it carefully before deciding whether to include it as a core feature in Edocman.
If this feature is urgent for your project, we can offer it as a custom development job tailored specifically for your site.
Please let me know if you’d like to proceed with that option.
Thanks,
Dam

Hi,
I understand that this change is somewhat complex, so perhaps we can start by offering a single category selection instead of allowing multiple categories to be selected at the same time. This way, we can at least clearly differentiate the search scope between members and non-members.
Thanks

Hi,
Yes, that would definitely be a simpler approach.
Allowing only a single category selection will make it much easier to manage and clearly separate the search scope between members and non-members.
Best regards,
Dam
