Multiple flat rate shipping

Hi, is it possible to have multiple flat rate shipping methods in EShop. i.e. one for UK first class post, one for second class, one for small parcels etc........?

Hi Alex,

Yes, it is possible. You can download the copies of Flat Shipping plugins that I am sending you here, then go to EShop -> Plugins -> Shipping to install them from there. Each Flat Shipping will be assigned to a Geo Zone.

Is there a way to change how each method is displayed at checkout? At the moment it just says "Item shipping rate" or "Flat shipping rate" etc but I need it to show "First class", "Second class". I've changed the title in the shipping plugins page but that change doesn't reflect in what you see on the website.

Yes, you should change that in the corresponding language files of these shipping plugins:

1. language\en-GB\en-GB.plg_eshop_flat.ini
2. language\en-GB\en-GB.plg_eshop_flat1.ini
3. language\en-GB\en-GB.plg_eshop_flat2.ini
etc.

Thanks for the above info, I have done all of this and it is working correctly.

The only thing I have a problem with now is setting flat1 as the default shipping option, for some reason when a customer goes to delivery method it selects flat2 by default (possibly because it is cheaper?), how do I change it so that flat1 is default selected?

I fixed it now - set the original flat rate shipping option as my first choice, then flat 1 as my 2nd choice and it automatically selects first choice when customer gets to that part of checkout.

For anybody else who uses the above extra flat rate shipping options you still need to keep the original flat rate shipping option enabled on your site or it causes problems in certain browsers not being able to select a shipping option.
