Agent/owner grayed out

Hi There,
Its mandory to select agent/owner to add a new property. However the box is greyed out and selecting an agent/user does not register. To test I installed a new copy on my local server without any modifications using the sample date. The same problem the box is greyed out and trying to add a property returns the error of 'agent/owner is mandory field'. My prefered solution would be to have a default agent or company. I don't have any use for more agents then one.

It means you can't add properties from back-end of your site because you can't select agent/ owner?
