[01-Nov-2026] EShop version 5.8.0 released

Today, we are pleased to release a major version of EShop Shopping Cart 5.8.0 with many great new features/improvements. We are sure that you will be happy with this new release.

1. Add Revenue Chart Feature.
This is a completely new feature on the backend side of EShop. You can access it by going to EShop -> Reports -> Revenue. It plots Order Revenue over a selectable period as six datasets: Pending, Complete, Shipped, Canceled, Failed and Refunded.

• You can view the chart by selecting period or customer date range that you want (Week, Month, Quarter or Year).
• Select to view chart by Category / Product.
• Alternative chart by Total / Per Product or Revenue / Orders.
• Compare with previous year by line.
• Download the Revenue to CSV file.

We also added the Revenue Chart to bottom of EShop Dashboard so you can see it from there easily.
 

2. Add Refund Order Feature.
Store admins can now Refund an order directly from the order edit page. When an order was paid online, has a transaction ID, and its payment method supports refunds, a Refund button appears in the toolbar to send a full refund request to the payment gateway and set the order to the new Refunded status which can be configured under Configuration.

We also updated the payment plugins which support Refunds:

• Default PayPal payment plugin (in EShop package)
• EShop PayPal Expanded Checkout
• EShop Square Card
• EShop Stripe
• EShop Stripe Checkout

So if you are using one of these payment plugins, please also update them to have the Refund Order feature too.

3. Product Image Zoom Improvements.

• Replaced the old, unreliable zoom plugin with a lightweight in-place hover zoom. Zoom now uses the high-quality "Product Image Popup Size" image instead of the small thumbnail, so zoomed images stay sharp.
• Fixed zoom position drifting after the page was scrolled or resized.
• Gallery images now update the zoom image when clicked.
• Selecting an option value that has an image loads that image into the main product image area for zooming. Selecting a value with no image restores the main product image.
• Added cache-busting versions to the zoom CSS and JS so updates load right away.

4. Edit Product Improvements.

• In Edit Product, the Options tab now uses Joomla subforms like the other tabs. Each option's values are edited in a repeatable table with the corresponding fields.
• Option value images are now picked through the Joomla Media Manager instead of a per-row file upload. Only images from the configured Joomla images folder are accepted, and existing images carry over unchanged.
• The form is now clean, nice and easy to use.

5. Product Filters / Searchs Improvements.

• When a customer filters by an option value that has its own image, matching products now show that image in the results. Products with no matching image keep the main product image.
• Improve the Search logic to allow search by Whole Keyword or Separated Keywords.

6. New "Force View Details" option for product lists.
There is a new Yes/No setting called "Force View Details" under EShop -> System -> Configuration -> Layout -> Category Page. When enabled, every product in the product list, grid and table layouts shows the View Details button instead of Add to Cart/Quote to force users to go to the product details page.

7. Other Improvements.

• Add "Product Image Priority" config to show selected option image instead of main product image.
• Implement Quantity discounts in the dynamic price on the product page.
• Fully compatible with native Joomla 6: Converted every remaining legacy function to use latest functions in Joomla 6.
• Fix the cut off buttons layout issue of Popout Cart / Popout Quote.
• Updated EShop SquareCard payment plugin to use Square PHP SDK.
