Today, we are pleased to release
EShop Shopping Cart 5.7.0 with some great new features/improvements:
1. New Feature: Unit Price
You can now display a per-unit price next to a product's regular price (e.g. $10.00 / Kg or $5.00 / L), making it easy for customers to compare prices for items sold by weight, volume, or any other units as you want.
- Unit Price Manager: A new "Unit Prices" manager under EShop -> System lets you create and manage unit price labels (e.g. Kilogram/Kg, Liter/L), each with a name and symbol. Two defaults unit: Liter (L) and Kilogram (Kg) - are included out of the box.
- Product Setup: Assign a Unit Price to any product from a new "Unit Price" field on the product edit form, right next to the Price field.
- Configurable Display: A new "Unit Price" option under EShop -> Configuration -> Option lets you choose whether the unit Name or Symbol is shown alongside the price.
- Store Wide Display: Once assigned, the unit price is automatically shown everywhere a product's price appears: product listings, category/search pages, related products, the product detail page, cart, quote, compare, checkout, order details/invoices, admin order and quote views, and order/quote notification emails.
No action is required for existing stores - the upgrade process automatically creates the new tables and adds the Unit Price option to your product forms and configuration.
2. Update Euro VAT Validation.
This is an important update if you are from Europe! The URL for validating a Euro VAT Number was changed so EShop also updated to have it work properly in this version.
3. Image Media Improvement.
All of default image media folder is now can be configured under EShop -> System -> Configuration -> Image tab. So instead of hard code the default image media folder as before (eg it is images/com_eshop/products), you now can change it to any other folder that you want.
This will improve the performance of your store when it is big with many data/images, the images can be uploaded to any folders that you want and the Image Media Manager can work smoothly.
4. Improve "Reply to Customer" Feature.
Under EShop -> System -> Configuration -> Mail tab, there was an option called "Reply to Customer". Once it is enabled, when admin's store receive the notification email of new order, the Reply button will send the email to customer's email directly instead of store's email.
Now, this feature is also applied for "Admin New Quote Alert Mail" and "New Ask Question Alert".
5. Update some EShop Add-ons and fix some other issues.
- Updated EShop SumUp payment plugin
- Updated EShop Billit plugin
- Processed Order issue fix
- Fix the issue with path of image in the invoices
