Today, we are pleased to release EShop Shopping Cart 5.6.2 with some great improvements and issues fix:
1. Fix Regression Issue
When we released previous version for security, there was a regression issue of getting categories / sub-categories in the EShop Products Filter module. For small shop, this is not too important. However, with the big shop with bigger data, it takes the pages with EShop load slowly and impact the performance of site.
This issue was reported by one of our big customers CBRNe World. With their suggestion for fixing and testing, the issue was resolved. Thanks to CBRNe World Team!
2. Improve Search Products Function
When customers enter the keywords into the search box to search for products, the system will search products based on Product Name, SKU, Short Description, Description, Tab Title and Content, Tags or Option Values. Now, admin's store can configure to allow the system to search by "Separated Keywords" or "Whole Keyword" on each element. This will take the Search function works more flexibly with higher performance.
3. Improve Product SKU and Product Option SKU.
With products that have options, when customers add the products to the cart for purchasing, the system generate the final product sku based on main product sku and additional selected option value sku in following format:
[Main_product_sku]-[option_value_sku_1]-[option_value_sku_2]-[option_value_sku_3]...
This is applied to the product details, to the products list in the Cart, Checkout, Email Notification Emails, Order Details and Invoice Layout. It helps the admin's store and customers to be more clear for the purchased products.
4. Other Improvements / Fixes:
- Improve layouts of categories / sub-categories to display number products of each category.
- Add the missed font for generating watermark images of categories/products.
Please update EShop to the latest version 5.6.2 to use these improvements and bugs fixes. Thanks for continue using our product and support our developments.
