EShop 2.5.1 was released at 17 February, 2017:

2. Fix small issue with email validation when store customer's information.
3. Fix small issue with Quote Manager at back-end side.

Hi Davide,

From version 2.5.1, Notify Me function is only available when all of following conditions meet:

1. Enable Notify Me from the configuration of EShop.

2. Product is out of stock

3. Stock Checkout configuration option is disabled.

My dashboard was showing up to date with 2.5 and we had to manually upgrade to 2.51 is this normal?

Hello Bob,

No, it will not update by itself. You must go to Update Manager of Joomla to find update and update it from there.
