Support request: Single registration for multi‑session / multi‑day events was created by Emanuel
Hello,I have a question regarding Events Booking and the handling of events that take place on multiple fixed dates. My requirement is the following:
- One event
- Several fixed dates (for example 3 days, or sessions spread across several weeks)
- One single registration for the entire event
- One price for the whole event
- One unified attendee list
- The dates should be displayed as part of the same event, not as separate recurring events

Hi Emanuel
You can use additional dates plugin. If you only want to allow registration for the first event, not additional dates, just edit the events associated with additional dates, set Registration Type to Disable Registration and it should be OK

Tuan

if i got you right, the additional dates plug-in would be usable for my usecase, when i deactivate the registration on all dates but the first. would these other dates be shown on the event-list-view and on the event-detail-page as additional dates of the same event?

Hello Tuan,
i bought the solution and we tried our most needed functions. all in all it doesn't look to bad.
there is one issue with the above mentioned functionality of multiple dates of one event. as you proposed, we deactivated the registration on alle sub-events, activated the option to show this sub-events on the event-details page. there is however a problem in the events-list-view. all the sub-events are shown there. it would be much better to just show their begin and enddates on the event-list in their parent-event instead.
Is this possible somehow? this is a must have for the customer. Users want to register for the whole event and need this informations about alle the dates in the frontend.

Hi Emanuel
What menu item type you are using to display list of events? If you use one of upcoming events menu item type, and set Hide Children Events parameter in the menu to Yes, it should work as you want

Hello Tuan,
thank you for the quick answer. your hintsolves the issue with the shown child-events (additional dates) perfectly. the menu option hides the childs. i see that the register-button beneath the event has changed too, corresponding to the multiple dates.
One important thing is still missing as mentioned above and i fear this is not implemented yet. the dates of the additional dates/events should be shown on the eventlist-entry of the parent-event. there is only the main-event-date atm. otherwise the user would only see these dates later, when entering the details.
Maybe you have another solution for this - hopefully.
best regards
EManuel

Hi EManuel
If you use that menu item, the system will show the date of the next upcoming child event. Not sure how you want the dates to be shown here? Could you please explain more details ?

Hello Tuan, if you imagine the upcoming events list/page. there are all the events shown as vertical entries. all with their title, categories, location and their event date. in case of the event with the additional dates it is not clear to the user, that this event is a row of events (dates). it would be great if all the dates are shown in this list entry of the kind of main-event. it is not enough that these dates are shown in the event details.
on the detailpage there is the same price at all dates/subevents. for the user it seems that every single date costs that amount. the plugins configuration page has no correlating possibilities too.
the need is: there should be an event with one price and held at multiple dates. all this should be shown in the event-list.
Example in the eventlist:
eventtitle (already)
date or dates
location (already)
categories (already)
description (already)
....
On the event-details page there should be all dates shown again, 1 price.

Hi Emanuel
Afraid of we won't support that kind of layout. So in your case :
- Maybe you will need to modify the events list layout to display children events date in the format you want
- Or maybe just setup just a single event and in Description of that event, list all the dates of the event to allow users to see it
