Approval after client offline payments is received

How do admin approve offline payments on membership renewal. When I want to publish the renewal, it changed the client's plan to the free plan. 
Alos when client uses Payfast as a payment, the payment does not automatically activate the membership. Again, when I want to make the membership active, it automatically removes the membership invoice and change it to the free plan.

Please advise

That sound strange to me. Could you please submit a support ticket sending us super user account of your site and tell me ID of a sample subscription record which I can approve and see this error

I'm going to check to see what's wrong and get it sorted
