Hello. I would install an e-commerce component in one of my websites made using Joomla.

1. Is this component a fork of virtuemart?
2. Can this component manage the shipping by state? In other words I choose the state in the frontend and it calculates shipping prices;
3. can I modify easily the product showing page? If I decide to show a product with two columns or not; if I decide to show some icons or modules in one page for a single product;
4. can I manage easily the interface showing the content of a category of products?

1. No, EShop is a completely standard Jooml shopping cart extension. It has nothing related to Virtuemart.

3. Yes, you can do that.

4. Yes, all of EShop layout can be managed easily.
