Stripe vs PayPal payment plugin for EB and Membership Pro

We currently use PayPal for both Events Booking (purchased Standard Checkout)  and Membership Pro (free version).
We are having some issues with Pay Pal (nothing to do with your products)
So, we are looking at using Stripe instead.
Which Stripe plugin do you recommend that we use if we decide to move?
It looks like the Stripe Checkout has more functionality ( stripe.com/docs/payments/checkout#features ).

Can the Stripe Checkout handle recuring subscriptions in Membership Pro as I seem to remember that PayPal Standard Checkout did not?
