Membership Pro and Community Builder

I currently use Community Builder to manage my profile, userlist, fields, and membership for our professional association.  I find it quite restrictive on templating, but it otherwise works ok.  Several years ago I switched to using Event Booking to manage our yearly meeting attendance, and now I'm wondering that if I use Membership Pro, do I really need Community Builder at all?  I just now noticed that Membership Pro has Community Builder integration.

So I'm wondering why I would need/use both CB and MPro?  I see that CB is probably a bit more customizable, but what advantage would the integration bring?  Secondly, would it be challenging to migrate from CB to MPro?  I kinda like the simplicity that MPro appears to have. 

Does Membership pro have a way to group custom fields and display in tabs like CB does?

Membership Pro does not offer all the features CB offers, like group fields into tabs as you mentioned. So if you really need that feature, maybe you would still have to use CB for now.

Otherwise, if that feature is not a must, you can switch to Membership Pro, and no need for using Community Builder at all. If you want, purchase a copy of Membership Pro to try. If it is not working as you want, we will be happy to refund the money you paid for the extension
