PDF Indexer characteristics

I'm interested in Pdf Indexer.
Demo is used using also Edocman.
Can the extension be used also without Edocman? What is the output in that case? Links point to pdf files?
I can only use chmod 775, not 777 files: is it a problem?

You can use PDF Indexer extension of us: joomdonation.com/joomla-extensions/joomla-pdf-indexer.html
it works independently and doesn't depend on Edocman extension.
PDF Indexer extensions uses the library called: pdftotext, this library should have permission 777 to make it to work stably, but you just need to change permission of that file, so there aren't any security problems here.
