I'm a Dropfiles user but this component lacks some functions, I would like to know if with EDocman it is possible to:
Embed YouTube or Vimeo videos as links (or as thumbnails or image or something else)?
Give the right (or not) to a user to download a single file belonging to a category.
In your demo I noticed that you are using Vertex framework by Shape5, but let me understand, how does EDocman will integrates with other framework?
Also, I don't see in any of your layouts the use of the display: flex property, but rather the display: table property, do you intend to update your layouts with flex properties?

1. Edocman allows user to add the document url for documents. And you can use Joomla Content plugins to add Embed YouTube or Vimeo videos into description of documents too.
2. Edocman has ACL management feature which allow you to setup access/download permissions with single documents or categories.
3. Edocman is compatible with any Joomla templates, it also supports Joomla 4 Beta with Bootstrap 5

1. YouTube/Vimeo links are opened in YouTube/Vimeo website or they opened in the website where EDocman is installed? ...for example in a lightbox?
3. Dependencies to Vertex framework remains?

1. Currently, Edocman only have feature to open the link in different tab, not lightbox.
2. You can use Edocman on any Joomla templates in different frameworks, not just Vertex. For example: T3, Bootstrap, UIKIT ..etc
