OS Property in a Multilingual site was created by Daniele Pinna
Hello

I'm making a Joomla site! multilingual for "Real Estate".

Among the extensions I'm considering buying there is "OS Property - Joomla Real Estate" (which is also the one I like best).

The site that I have to realize will be, at least initially, in two languages: Italian and English ... and this brings up some problems that, seeing the online demo, do not seem to be managed by OS Property and that I have not found in the documentation .

I state that, in general, I have no problem setting up Joomla! as multilingual.

If I have two languages (Italian and English) I should create all the categories in both "Italian" and "English" languages.

The same for the Properties ...

But I have not seen in the On-Line demo the possibility of making visible that "resource" only for the "Italian" Language or only for the "English" Language, such as for example with the Articles, the Menu, or Modules etc.

Is it something not visible in the OnLine version because it is limited to one language? Or is it not really possible?

Obviously I know that I can use the "ovverride" to force translations into the various languages installed, but for those who will then have to use the site would be too complex and cumbersome to manage.

Thank you in advance for the answers

Thank you

Hi,
Thank you for interested in OS Property. Regarding to your questions, i would like to answer as below:
- OS Property supports multiple languages. If your Joomla is multilingual, you will able to enter content of OS Property in different languages. If you have more than one activate languages on your site, when you create data in OS Property (Categories, Property types, Properties ..etc), data of item in main language will be shown in tab: General while you can enter data of item in different languages in tab: Translation. Thus, you will not need to create the same items for different languages.
- OS Property has Translation tool which you can use to translate labels, text or static content (of component) from main language to different languages without losing after upgrading.
- OS Property has English and Italian language packages with England and Italian location data also.
In general, you can build multilingual real estate site with OS Property easily.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Regards,
Dam

Thanks for the reply :-)

I still have a doubt... and it arises from the possible difficulty for the client (the owner of the site) to insert the various announcements independently.

The insertion of the announcement, in particular Title, Description etc. it will then be done only once, for example in Italian... then you have to move to the Translations page and insert the translation in glese?

Or you must insert instead of Title, Short Description, Extended Description etc. of the Strings (KEY) to use then in the Translations Tab?

The Translation tab, I see that it is not accessible in the Demo... is this in the Gallery?

Hi Daniele,
Data is dynamic content, so we aren't able to define them in Translation tool. When you add/edit data (Categories, Property types, Properties ..etc) in multilingual, the form will have 2 main tab: General and Translation. Tab: General will contain information of item in main language while tab: Translation contains information of item in different languages.
Thanks

Thanks for explanation.

.Is there language files for languages ie .ini files etc that is tranlated to different language packs and where do you find them? If you have some translation languages with some special modifications is there a certain stored .ini language file for overrides there?

Do OS Property also work with Falang Joomla translator or is this not any use for it?

Thnks!

Hi,
OS Property supports Joomla mutlingual, so you don't need Falang extension to build Joomla realestate multilingual site. (Even OS Property supports Falang extension). OS Property also has Translation tool which you can use to translate static content of component from main language to different languages without overridden in future.
Thanks

Another question is about the top Search and if this also works then for example if you want to search for different locations that are set up for different location name.

Example if I search for properties in ex Scotland I get the Scottish properties if I use UK language and search for: Scotland but If I use Spanish Joomla language mode and search for Escocia then the exactly same property(ies) will show up in the Spanish search result but with Spanish languages titles etc.

Just want to know and this is for all settings equally for all languages property fields that are searchable

Yes, OS Property will show data in your activated language. For example, if you are turning on Spanish language, OS Property will show properties in Spanish.
Thanks
