Membership Pro - Can some subscriptions only be applied from the back end

We have life, honorary & media, etc memberships that are bestowed by the committee, some expire whilst others do not. These memberships should not be available for folks to select from the front end when applying for or renewing a membership, is this possible?

Yes. It is possible. In that case, you just simply don't create any menu item to display plans on frontend of your site and users won't see and could not subscribe for these plans
