migration DOCman v1.5.8 to EDocman and questions ? was created by Erick
Hi !
I am re-building an old website (Joomla 1.5 and DOCman v1.5.8 ) , is the migration tool 100% working for this old docman version ?
The website will be in German , is German lang installed ?
IN DOCman there are groups of customers to allow them to do certain thing depending on the group , is it possible with EDocman too ? (I need it)
Are overrides easy ? like any other component ? I dont want to use your theme but my own template with no extra css added
thank you

Hi Erick,
Edocman has migration tool to move data from DOCman 1.5.8. But it only can migrate data (documents, categories) from DOCman to Edocman, it can't migrate access permission levels of DOCman documents and categories to Edocman.
Edocman has ACL feature, you can use it to setup permissions of specific Joomla groups with Edocman categories, documents.
Lastly, Edocman was built on MVC structure, so you can override layouts of Edocman easily.
Thanks
Dam

but Docman uses his own groups that are different from those of joomla, is there something similar in Edocman ?
