I need to set up a membership plan for calendar year i.e. 1-1 t0 31-12. How ever is it possible to set it up that if somebody joins in December (i.e. last month of subscription) they will be automatically a member for the following year.

It is not possible, but there is workaround. From 1st December, you can edit the plan, set Expired Data of the plan to 2018-12-31 and it will work as expected
