Someone registered for a closed event was created by Lon Czarnecki
This one confuses the heck out of me. I received a registration for an event from last year that has been closed! I called the person that registered and she said she tried to register for a different event. Using her phone, she went to the date she was told to register for on the calendar, and simply registered and paid for the event. The problem is I cannot reproduce that registration. I went to the date of the event she registered for and it is closed. I can't register for it. I get the message "We are no longer accepting registrations for this event" which is correct. Yet somehow she registered for it. I went to the event she thought she was registering for and it registered me for the correct event.

How did she register for an event that has been closed for a year?

Hi Lon

Honestly, I don't have any clue why it happens. Is the event free or paid event? Did see logged in while registering?

Maybe you can go to Events Booking -> Configuration, set Reduce Registration Process config option to No and continue monitoring it to see whether the issue could happens again

Or maybe it is because the new event has same alias with old event? Access to Events Booking, then Tools -> Purge URLs to reset URLs...

Honestly, I am unsure why it happens, so please keep monitoring it. Doing two things above might help prevent it, too

I agree, I can't understand it either.

I set the configuration to Reduce Registration Process to NO, and purged URL's so we will continue to monitor.

Just to keep providing information;
We don't have registrants log in so she wasn't logged in when she registered.
It was a paid event.
The old event and new event are named differently so the alias is also different.

It's weird. I'll report back to this thread if it happens again, but it has only happened once in the past 16 months we've been using the program, so it could simply be an anomaly.

Thanks Tuan
