Edocman - import from older version to new version

I have an older version of Edocman (1.5.2) installed on a Joomla 2.5 site with about 75 Categories and 1400 documents. Due to some other site issues, I would like to totally replace the site a Joomla 3.7.5 site and I would of course need purchase the latest Edocman version.
Is there a way to import all the categories and documents from the old site into the new site? If I read the documentation correctly, the bulk import feature would only import all documents into one category. Just looking for an easier way.
Also wondering if the latest version is compatible with Joomla 2.5?

The latest Edocman version doesn't work with with Joomla 2.5.x, we dropped support Joomla 2.5.x for a long time. If you want to use Edocman on Joomla 3.x, you can purchase latest Edocman version and we will help you to migrate data of Edocman from old version to new version.

I have made the purchase to set up on the new site. Is there instructions that I can follow to do the migration?
I want to do some testing on the new test site, but also want to keep the original site functioning until early next year. The site has thousands of hits from now until January for Student Scholarship applications.

1. Your old site url with Super admin account
2. PHP MyAdmin url and account of old site
3. Your new site url with Super admin account
4. PHP MyAdmin url and account of new site.
My staff will help you to migrate data from old site to new site
