Hi Peter,
On OSP Real Homes demo site, we use high quality pictures without CSS compressing, so the loading speed isn't good. It can be improved if we use Joomla Cache, adjust pictures quality with JCH optimize.
To be honest, OSP Real Homes template was built based on T3 framework. And one limitation point of this framework is number of JS files to be load in the template. It makes the template become slower than other template clubs. (My thought)
