MembershipPRo Subscriber to select groups he want

Hi
Actually several parts but all related.

We will have Maybe 20 groups, categories, or channels to control information on various topics..
Subscriber needs to select all the groups he wants to see.
Each can have seperate fee (if exists ) aplied to this subscription.

DETAILS:
I would like to use subscriptions to allow a user to limit what they are able to see
We have multiple subjects we provide info on.
People like to show the ones thay are interested in and block the others

EXAMPLE could be like religions: Christian and Muslim and Buddhist and Wicca-Pagan, any or all the shown items can be selected. As many as about 20 items and their selections allow them to view only those channels or groups.
I would also HOPE that Admin can edit choices to remove a choice later, if there is a problem.

A subscription COULD be set so each channel has it's own fee (if there is one) and be summed and totaled on the subscribers bill.

Right now all this is free and may remain that way forever, but that is a plan? I think ? I hope? Maybe open to a better idea ??

Thanks
Lewis

Hello Lewis

Technical, it can be done. Basically:

1. You will need to setup different plans, each plan for a group (20 plans in your example)

2. Create different user groups, each group is for a subscription plan. Then also a new access level for the group

3. Config Membership Pro so that when users subscribe to a plan, they will be assigned to the appropriate user group of that plan

4. Then setup access level for the resource base on the plan which you setup

The downside is Membership Pro only allows subscribe for a plan a time, so if someone wants to join different groups, they will have to subscribe for multiple plans, each time, one plan, so might be time confusing for them

Hi Tuan,

Thanks for the quick reply.
I am reading docs for custom fields for adding additional fees, but I guess that would not SELECT a plan or group, but would just add additional fees to payment?

Could the checkbox add another group to the subscription as well as perhaps it's associated fee?

Thanks in advance

Hello

Actually, Joomla group is associated to subscription plan, not to custom fields. See membershipprodoc.joomservices.com/joomla-groups-integration

Thanks so much. Still reading, when I can,
