That's unfortunately, not supported. If you want and require code modification. However, if you do the modification, it will be lost during the update
So I guess you should keep using it as how it is. Also, go to Events Booking -> Configuration, find the config option Default Payment Type, set it to Deposit Payment
By doing that, when someone register for event, the deposit payment option will be selected by default and it should work
