I receive a syntax error message when I attempt to add or edit a custom field...
syntax error, unexpected ')', expecting ',' or ';'

I searched and didn't see anything specifically related to this.

Actually, this issue was fixed about one or two weeks ago. So just access to My Downloads menu item, download latest version, upgrade it to the site and the error will be fixed

Yes, I see. It was a bug causes by my quick modification to version 2.13.2. So please re-download, re-install it and it will work well

Just install over the top again, correct. No need to uninstall and reinstall?

Update.. this resolved it. I know this is in the wrong forum category. If you move it, that's fine. If you want to delete it..that's fine too.
