[EDocman] - Joomla Update System

I am currently using the now defunct Akeeba Release System (ARS) to manage my client software, versions and downloads. I am considering EDocman as a possible replacement product, in conjunction with Membership Pro.

Can EDocman handle a Joomla Update stream so that it will meet the JED requirements that become mandatory on 10th January 2017?

Currently, we have implemented functionality "Extension updates from the Joomla back-end" for some extension. In the meantime, we are waiting for feedback from customers about this feature, we are continuing to implement it for remain extensions including Edocman. We would like to assure you that "Joomla Update stream" will be applied to Edocman before due January 10, 2017.

Sorry, it appears I was unclear.

I am wondering whether I can upload extensions developed by me, into EDocman and use it as the download platform so my extensions know there is a new update available.
