Yes. I just paid and downloaded Membership Pro and am going to install on Joomla 3.6 now. Is there any risk if I try to import subscriber data into Membership Pro without upgrading to the AEC version you sent?

No risk. But the migrator component might not work well.

I'll try without the upgrade first, since I'm very reluctant to change anything at the existing site because I don't have the original AEC install file in case anything goes wrong.

I don't think you should do it directly on your live site. Make a clone of the site, then run the migrator from that clone site would be much safe

The Joomla3 install is running properly from a sub-folder of the main site already.

1. Go to Extension -> Plugins, install this plugin plug_system_aec2osmembership.zip. Publish it
I don't see an option to upload or install a plugin from that page. Should I be installing/uploading the package file for the migrator from the "Install Extensions" page instead?

That plugin is only need to be installed after you have all the data migrated and ready to go live. For now, you need to download the migrator component from that topic
joomdonation.com/forum/membership-pro/41....html?start=50#79842
, follow the instructions on that topic to migrate data first

OK, I installed and ran the data migrator and got an error. I presume it is because the migrator doesn't know where to get the data from.
This is my setup:
Joomla 1.5.26 install example.com has AEC Version 1.2 installed with subscribers
Joomla 3.6 install is example.com/joomla3 has Membership Pro installed and users have been imported from Joomla 1.5.26 install
[EDIT: I should note here that existing users have been imported into Joomla, but not into Membership Pro]
Shouldn't I be outputting a CSV file from AEC and then running Components > Membership Pro > Import Subscribers?
Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question.

Hi Paul
Sorry for could not reply you earlier. It was our midnight and I was not available when you post your last question
The answer is Yes, if you could export your old subscribers to a csv file, then you can use Import Subscribers from CSV in Membership Pro to import the subscribers. See membershipprodoc.joomservices.com/subscr...t/import-subscribers
However, there is one limitation. If in AEC, if you have recurring subscription plans, then you will have to use migrator component to migrate the data instead of using CSV import feature. Otherwise, the recurring subscription which subscribed in AEC won't be extended properly when you switch to use Membership Pro
Regards,
Tuan
