Conditional fields and duplicated titles

I've created some custom fields with the same title, but different field names. EB seems to create these just fine, but I'm having difficulty understanding their behavior when it comes to displaying on the registration form and using them for parent conditional fields.

If two fields have the same title, only one displays on the registration form?

If two fields have the same title, how do I know which one I'm using when setting up conditional fields?
