can someone tell me what the difference is between
MP Worldpay and MP CardSave.

In short, it is the two different payment gateways. If you want to know the difference, I think you will need to contact Worldpay or Cardsave payment gateway support and ask them about it

I think the history is they were two separate entities that merged.

I'm not sure how much of their APIs are consistent nowadays. But certainly the URLs etc are different.

There are gateways for both though available. I'm using CardSave.
