Integrating Events Booking with Membership Pro was created by DVMA
Hi!
My organization currently uses Membership Pro to manage member subscriptions at three levels: Student, Regular, and Contributing. My organization also hosts events with registration fees based on membership level: free for Student members; $10 for Regular and Contributing members; and $15 for non-members. I am considering purchasing Events Booking to support this need. Before I did, I wanted to make sure that the two Extensions will work together as I hope. Can I set up Events Booking to only allow event registration based on a user's subscription status in Membership Pro?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi
The two extensions work well together to solve your requirement:
1. You can config Membership Pro so that when users sign up for a subscription plan, they will be assigned to certain Joomla groups you want. See membershipprodoc.joomservices.com/joomla-groups-integration for detailed instructions
2. Then config your events, use members discount setting to provide different discount amount based on the user group. So basically, subscribers of each plan can receive different discount amount
3. Yes, You can allow event registration base on user's subscription status. Basically, you can only allow users from what Joomla groups can register for your event...
Happy to guide you to setup or setup a sample for you if needed

Thanks, Tuan.
I have some follow-up questions about using groups. I've set it up so that new subscribers are assigned to specific groups (and un-assigned if their subscriptions lapse). However, I see that subscribers already registered are not automatically re-assigned to those groups. So, two questions: 1) Is there a way to batch assign users to groups based on their subscription? And 2) When users with lapsed subscriptions are removed from the subscription-specific group, do they still appear in the "Registered" group?
Many thanks!
Maeve

Hi Maeve
1=> Unfortunately, it is not possible. For existing users, I think you will have to assign them to the group you want manually. We can help writing a script to move it to the groups automatically based on subscription status. However, writing this script will cost you extra 40$. So if there are not many users to move, I think you should move it manually
2=> Yes, they will still belong to their default Registered Group
Regards,
Tuan
