Is PDF indexing working in Edocman?

I am inquiring abut the indexing of PDF files, as the ability to search for text within a document is a function I am looking for in a document management component.
I have looked at the Edocman demo here: joomdonationdemo.com/edocman/ ; however the search module does not find words within the documents, as far as I can see. Is there somewhere I can see this working?
Thanks,
Éadaoin

EDocman has it own indexer plugin (we don't install and enable it on our demo site, that's the reason you don't see it works)
So the answer for this question is Yes, it supports PDF indexing. You will have to install both EDocman extension and the EDocman indexer plugin ( joomdonation.com/forum/edocman/16396-edo...-plugin-release.html ) to get the PDF content being indexed and searchable

Thanks for this advice.
I have bought Edocman, and installed it on an existing site. So far, I'm finding it pretty intuitive, and creating categories, setting permissions etc. all seem clear and simple to do.
My problem is with the indexer plugin.
I downloaded and installed it onto a site on a local server environment, and enabled it, with the file types pdf and docx. Before doing anything else, I created a category, and created a document, and uploaded a PDF I had just made from a Word document. I searched for a word within the document, and it worked.
Now, I have created over 500 nested categories on a large site on a live server. I started importing documents from a location no the server using the Bulk Import facility. This worked fine. However, when I tried searching for a word within one of the documents, I got the result: 'No documents found'. Searching for the title of the file works, and I can view and download each document, so I don't think it's a permissions issue.
I then replicated the original test, creating a single document by uploading a single PDF, but now the search no longer works within that file either.
Is there a step I'm missing, does the indexer need to be told to index each PDF by some process before they can be searched?
Thanks,
Éadaoin

The documents won't be indexed when you use Bulk Import feature. If you want it to be indexed, you will need upload file for these documents, one by one
If you have documents already imported, maybe you will have to use OS PDF Indexer extension to index these documents to save time (I guess you have so many documents ?)

Thanks for your reply.
However instead of :
"Yes, it supports PDF indexing. You will have to install both EDocman extension and the EDocman indexer plugin (joomdonation.com/forum/edocman/16396-edo...-plugin-release.html) to get the PDF content being indexed and searchable"
it might have been more accurate to reply:
"Yes it supports indexing, if you are happy to upload documents one by one. If you intend to use the Bulk Import feature, you will also need to purchase the OS PDF Indexer"
So, just to be absolutely clear, if I now go and purchase the OS PDF Indexer, will I then be able to index PDFs? This is not simply a question of payment- I could have saved a lot of time in testing if I had realised this was the case.
Thanks,
Éadaoin
